Exploring Tokyo Through Its Ramen Shops
ask any japanese, and they'll sigh when you mention ramen. great stuff...my next trip to japan will be ramen-themed.

don't know if we'll get one...yet. i'm sure eventually this will be in our home, but when? can't tell ya.
possibly my favorite food time of the year is new year's. love all the traditional japanese foods - ozoni, kuromame, soba, etc. scott made sure we had ozoni and soba while we were in chicago last week. i really wish we had somewhere here in AZ where we could order osechi for delivery. we just found a small japanese store that actually sells mochi and you can order it for new year's...maybe next year.
we had chance to check out the new modern wing at the art institute last wednesday. it was nice, though not jaw-dropping. it reminded me a bit of the tate in london, with the long wooden stairs. the best part of the modern wing is that it overlooks millennium park, and their new restaurant, terzo piano, has a patio area that overlooks the park as well. the video is of that patio area, obviously unavailable for dining, but absolutely beautiful with the snow.
