mmm, onigiri (or musubi, as people in hawaii might say...). i would kill for a good nigiri shop nearby. much better than eating those bacon/peanut butter sandwiches that i get at jimmy's sandwich shop here in woods hole. but then again, those bacon/peanut butter sandwiches are mighty tasty, too.
ask any japanese, and they'll sigh when you mention ramen. great stuff...my next trip to japan will be ramen-themed.
possibly my favorite food time of the year is new year's. love all the traditional japanese foods - ozoni, kuromame, soba, etc. scott made sure we had ozoni and soba while we were in chicago last week. i really wish we had somewhere here in AZ where we could order osechi for delivery. we just found a small japanese store that actually sells mochi and you can order it for new year's...maybe next year.
