went hiking over the weekend with ricky, mavis, kara, and david...arizona is simply beautiful right now with all the wildflowers in bloom.  we've had a lot of rain the last few months (relatively speaking, for the desert) and things are so green.  here are some pics from the hike...bet you never thought the desert could be so beautiful, huh?

also, in the second photo, check out the bird that was nesting in the cactus...pretty cool!

i'm living in woods hole, massachusetts for the next three months doing some research.  i'm renting a room at my friends' house, which is a large place quite close to the water.  some amazing views of the ocean - waves and sunsets.  it's cold, but at least it's pretty.

more pics from our white mountains camping trip.  the hikes were beautiful and the days were splendid.  evenings were cold...and, as you can see, the campsite was empty (we were the only people there).  the first pic is of us trying out our new tent (bought a year ago but never used)...we had to do it in the dark when we arrived at the campsite so it was good for us to do it at home first.

got to see some friends while in chicago...and meet jonah (steen and shin's) and dillon (pete and vick's).  lighting was bad so the pics of dillon are dark and blurry...but check out that video of avery...isn't he a cutie?

at the "harry potter and the half-blood prince" opening in sydney's darling harbour imax theatre...
